About the event

This short workshop will show you how specific breathing exercises can help to calm exam nerves and how to enhance focus and concentration in the lead-up to the exam and during the exam itself.

The workshop is intended for anyone taking exams as well as parents and teachers of students.

You will find out what most of us have been getting wrong with respect to breathing to counteract stress, and what the tried and tested approach to successful breathing looks and feels like.

You will be introduced to exercises that can be easily incorporated into your daily routine as well as for interventional application on exam day itself.

You will hear about the science that underpins these exercises to enhance motivation to use them either for yourself or for your students / children.

The event will also be recorded and available to view later for those who have pre-booked, There will be time available for questions (this section will not be recorded).

About the Instructors

Annette and Graham Henry are trained in Buteyko Breathing and Oxygen Advantage respectively. Annette spent most of her former career in teaching, particularly for the post 16 age group and she wishes she had known about these simple strategies when she was preparing students for exams, including the particularly stressful foreign language speaking exams which, at times, gave rise to nothing short of feelings of panic. Graham’s career was in publishing and the nature of the role, which included public speaking, gave him his own experience of panic and anxiety. He knows now that these responses could have been lessened or even reduced by learning how to breathe differently.
