Über die Veranstaltung

If you struggle to conceive of a connection between how we breathe and how we sleep, you're not alone. The link is seldom made even in a clinical setting, unless the presenting issue is sleep apnea.

But considering the diverse physiological effects of breathing, it should come as no surprise that our sleep can be a victim of poor breathing patterns. The surprise is that it's so overlooked especially when, in a majority of cases, it can be very easily addressed.

In this event we look at sleep and sleep-related issues that can be impacted by breathing:

  • Insomnia (inability to fall asleep / stay asleep / go back to sleep after waking too early).
  • Snoring
  • Sleep apnea - 4 phenotypes
  • Poor quality, unrefreshing sleep leading to lethargy and listlessness during the day.

We explain why breathing can play a sometimes significant role in the quality and duration of our sleep.

And we will offer some general recommendations which we know can make a difference. We will also point to some research that can help to alleviate some of the worry surrounding poor sleep.

If you discover in the course of this presentation that you need one-to-one support to get your breathing back on track, or if you already know that you have disordered breathing that may be impacting negatively on your sleep, then breathing re-education may well be relevant for you.
